Using the back stairs, we gained access to the roof. The sun had gone down, but it was not yet dark.
We went around to the back of the skylight through which we had looked from below. Down on the river, a paddleboat was going through the swinging railway bridge, and we ducked down to avoid being seen as the passengers flashed pictures of the factory.
Then we climbed up to the walkway around the tank and got a beautiful view of the city in the evening.
It's very serene, and one of the nicest views I've found of St. Paul.
